Pablo Imbach

D r Imbach is currently Climate Action Lead at CATIE (Centro Agronómico Tropical de Investigación y Enseñanza / Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center) in Turrialba, Costa Rica. P. Imbach has extensive experience designing and implementing technical support to government agencies, NGOs, and UN agencies in the Global South, in Central America, Southeast Asia and Africa. P. Imbach is an expert on modeling and quantitative analysis[37,38,39] and experienced in setting up cohesive, skilled teams in Central  America and Southeast Asia that transfer research into technical guidance for development.

Their research and technical capacities cover ecosystem responses to climate change, agricultural and hydrological dynamics responses to climate variability and change, NbS for climate adaptation and risk reduction. P. Imbach specializes in scaling NbS, bridging short- and long-term planning with decision-making for adaptation to climate impacts, and science-based decision-making from local to global scales. P. Imbach is a co-applicant and serves as regional co-lead (Africa) in WP2.

Pablo Imbach has 20+ years of experience working in climate and land-use change, climate services, agriculture, hydrology, biodiversity and sustainable development.
