Prof. Penney is a population health scientist with a PhD in epidemiology and preventive medicine from the Medical Research Council Epidemiology Unit, University of Cambridge, UK. Prof. Penney serves as PI and co-PI in funded projects on systems thinking in global health research from Canadian Institutes of Health Research, International Development Research Centre (IDRC) and the World Health Organization.
Prof. Penney has widely published and collaborated in systems approaches and has led the development of international guidance on the use of systems approaches for disease prevention policy with WHO Europe. Prof. Penney is a co-applicant, contributing as an expert in global health (WP2,3).

Biography
Prof. Penney is an Associate Professor of Global Health, Director of the Global Food Systems and Policy Research group in the School of Global Health, Faculty of Health and a Faculty Fellow with the Dahdaleh Institute for Global Health Research at York University.
